  Why no Crisis of Conscience eBook pdf version?

  there has to be a lot of fading or questioning jw out there that want to read this book but are afraid of getting the hard copy because of fears of getting caught, mailing issues, etc.

  i think if this were available as an ebook, so many more ppl would be able to read it.

  it would make it so much easier for those who want to take a look at this discreetly and take the leap.

  I have not met him personally - though we communicate by email. I have noticed that his 'vigor' seems to be reduced some now due to age - if fact he admitted as much to me not long ago. Emails are slower than they used to be.... ect.

  I think the idea is good - esp for the 'fence sitters' you mention -since a book is harder to conceal for those with family still in and strong, living in the same house.

  Perhaps someone here with the internet savvy and time would be willing to work a deal with Ray so that no one gets harmed financially to get it done? Just a thought.

  Why no Crisis of Conscience eBook pdf version?

  there has to be a lot of fading or questioning jw out there that want to read this book but are afraid of getting the hard copy because of fears of getting caught, mailing issues, etc.

  i think if this were available as an ebook, so many more ppl would be able to read it.

  it would make it so much easier for those who want to take a look at this discreetly and take the leap.

  ohiocowboy - that is a good idea. E-books can be copied though can't they? It might get ripped that way. Or am I wrong on that? Not to literate on some of those things

  "Babylon the Great", who is she?

  in the book of revelation, talking about things to come, babylone the great is to be destroyed, in one hour.. .

  some think that babylon the great symbolizes america, while others like the jw's say it's the false relgions that will be destroyed by the un.... .

  who do you think babylon the great represents?.

  Shark Attack

  my fellow skittlers, those of the mighty and most feared team "the wanderers", now call me "shark attack".. this harps back to just after i'd come out of hospital and proudly displayed my scars to enyone whom i could get to take a peek.

  now, if i happen to score a spare, my team jump up and down and shout "shark attack, shark attack!

  Disparaging Terms

  "apostate" is the most hateful, disparaging term in watchtower vocabulary.. yet, on page 15 of the dec.1st, 1984 watchtower they say,"it would be unscriptural for us ( wbts ) to use disparaging terms when referring to ones who do not share our belief.".

  talk about hypocrisy!

  when anyone calls you an apostate, point them to this wt.and watch their reaction.. blueblades

  How about the 'common' terms used daily in dubland?

  Worldly - pagan - Babylonish - materialist - demonized - ungodly - false worship[ers] - under the worlds influence -

  even terms that would be thought of outside the org as positive, take on negative connotations

  Churchgoer - religious - priest - rabbi - religious-leaders

  I don't think anthing on this matter is clear but this;

  The Watchtower Society never got anything right when interpreting matters of prophetic significance - neither has anyone else that I have seen in modern times - but there will always be those who think they know! And they will be proved wrong since the scriptures say it is a 'mystery' -

  But someone will always claim to have the 'obvious answer' - why swallow more nonsense after getting out of the mire we were in? Interpreters are a dime a dozen - and worth about as much. No offense intended to anyone here.

  Was it worth meeting with the judicial committee?

  for those of you who met with a judicial committee and were subsequently da'd or df'd, was it worth the time and effort?

  did the elders let you speak your piece, or were they only interested in hearing that key word or phrase that would allow them to act?

  was there genuine interest shown, proboing questions asked, did they really want to know how you felt?

  I don't even see why they bother in cases of 'apostasy'. Wifey and I have been treated like we have leprosy without it - shunned, hated, ignored, gossipped about - why bother with a JC when you get the same results by just running your mouth in the car groups and slandering the dissenters - same effect when all are conditional in love -

  That's prob the reason - I wish I had it in that format so that I could print out some key parts to show old friends - without it being clear where it came from - but alas.....
